Thirteen dedicated Rhode Islanders spent their Saturdays in June learning the basics of real estate development. Congratulations to the inaugural Jumpstart Rhode Island cohort of community-minded aspiring or early-stage developers. We can’t wait to see what you do to strengthen neighborhoods, connect community, and build generational wealth.

Special thanks to our remarkable faculty members who guided the 15 hours of instruction: Sharon Conard-Wells, Ron Caniglia, Joe Garlick, Naomi Mark, and Brigid Ryan. Thank you also to the guest presenters who shared expertise and resources: Meg Apostolou, Nayeli Munrayos, Ricardo Rivera, and Carrie Zaslow. And gratitude to City Council President Rachel Miller and Rhode Island Housing President of Proactive Development Benjamin Frost for celebrating the graduates.
Jumpstart began in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia and has since expanded to 19 partner programs across six states. We’re grateful to the Jumpstart team for supporting expansion into Rhode Island, which was made possible thanks to the generous support of Centreville Bank. Thank you, Centreville, for investing in Rhode Island!
